Governance

The UKAT governance is formed of four committees - the Board of Trustees, the Board, the Professional Development Committee and the Research Committee. The Community Engagement Team is the operational arm of UKAT and is responsible for the organisation and delivery of UKAT activities. The Conference Team has specific responsibility for the organisation and delivery of the UKAT annual conference.

UKAT is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and the Board of Trustees is responsible for the rules and finances of UKAT, and for ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Charity Commission.

The UKAT Board oversees the operation of UKAT, sets strategic goals and priorities to meet member needs, and ensures robust governance and responsible use of the association's finances. The Board is chaired by the UKAT Chair.

Professional Development Committee

The Professional Development Committee is chaired by the Vice-Chair (Professional Development) and has a mission to create an accessible culture of shared professional experience and improve the training, development and everyday practice of tutors and advisors.

Research Committee

The Research Committee is chaired by the Vice-Chair (Research) and has a mission to promote an accessible culture of intellectual curiosity where members engage in purposeful scholarship and research to recognise and explore the value of Academic Advising/Personal Tutoring for the student experience.
