Session Outline

Effective advising and personal tutoring is essential for student success; the UKAT Professional Recognition Scheme offers recognition for quality-enhanced approaches to supporting students through advising and personal tutoring. There are three levels of recognition and the UKAT Framework for Advising and Tutoring provides a unique opportunity in the UK and Europe to become a Recognised Practitioner in Advising, a Recognised Senior Advisor or a Recognised Leader in Advising.

The session is an introduction to the UKAT Professional Framework and the core components of the Framework and its competencies. The benefits of professional recognition will be explored as well as highlighting which level of recognition is appropriate depending on role and experience. The application process and expectations for each level will be discussed with useful tips to ensure a successful application.
